In new interdisciplinary solo work TraVersees / Ylityksiä (Crossings) explores traversal and dance’s articulation, sometimes seen as clumsy, oblique and slow movement, choreographer and dancer Nadja Pärssinen processes how walking with eyes closed and open in relation to bodily articulation, space, landscapes and sometimes intimate objects could sensitize one to performance.
In the work, Pärssinen is particularly interested in conveying the tactile bodily practice of different parts of the body and their permeability in relation to space, objects, memories and landscapes, etc.
The solo work can also be seen as some crossings and tactile dances in relation to various objects, soundscape/music, and video works of intimate photo and nature´s rocky and cast landscape. The work also asks what kind of different crossings could we do collectively?
